Can you work remotely?

Yes. A good proportion of production work happens remotely, with sessions shared as stems and reviewed over video. Where a project needs live players in a room together, that part is recorded in Manchester or at a studio of your choosing.

Do you write to a brief, or only your own material?

Both. Commissioned work to a brief is a large part of the practice. Film, theatre, dance and brand projects all arrive with constraints, and those constraints are usually what make the music interesting.

Who owns the music at the end?

That depends on what you need, and it is agreed in writing before work starts. Sync and brand projects are usually licensed or bought out; artist projects normally leave the writer share with whoever wrote it. Either way, nothing is left ambiguous.

Fees depend on scope, the number of players involved and the rights you need. You will get a fixed figure in writing after the first conversation, and a straight answer if the budget and the ambition do not match.

Can you provide musicians for a session?

Yes. TebuSpace can assemble and direct a section or a full band from a network of players across Manchester and the North West, and handle the session logistics with you.

Music made with an ear for where it comes from. TebuSpace writes, arranges and produces original work that draws on West and Central African rhythmic traditions and the harmonic and improvisational language of jazz, for artists making their own records, and for film, theatre and brands who need music that carries a specific cultural weight.

Conversation
We talk about the project, references, deadlines, budget and what the music has to do. You will get an honest read on whether this is the right fit before anything is agreed.

Proposal
A written scope: deliverables, milestones, who is playing, and a fixed fee or day rate. No surprises later.

Sketches
Early musical ideas, sent as rough demos rather than polished tracks. This is the cheapest point to change direction, so it is where the real decisions get made.

Recording
Sessions with the chosen players, in the studio or remotely. You are welcome in the room, and encouraged to be.

Production and mix
The record is built, revised against your notes, and mixed. Two rounds of revisions are included as standard.

Delivery
Final masters, stems and any alternate versions, with the licensing and credits agreed in writing.
