The community around the space
Community is where TebuSpace comes alive. It is a space for people to share stories, exchange ideas, create together and build meaningful connections across cultures and creative disciplines.
Through Community Stories, Creative Circles, Conversations, Events, Workshops, Showcases and Cultural Gatherings, TebuSpace creates opportunities for people to move from simply experiencing culture to actively shaping it.
Whether you are an artist, musician, storyteller, educator, community member or simply someone with an idea to share, there is a place for you here.

Ongoing work
Community projects
Longer work made with a specific group, where the process matters as much as the result.
Rhythm circles
Weekly or fortnightly percussion sessions run with community organisations, youth projects and wellbeing services. No experience, no instruments and no commitment to a performance required, though groups often end up asking for one.

Intergenerational sessions
Music-making that deliberately puts different generations in the same room, usually built on call-and-response forms that work regardless of who can hear what or move how.

School residencies
A sustained presence in one school across a term rather than a single visit, building a piece with a year group, working alongside the music staff, and leaving material behind that they can keep using.

Creative practice for artists
Peer sessions for early-career musicians and composers working across traditions: bring what you are stuck on, play it to people who will take it seriously, and leave with somewhere to go next.

Partnerships and collaborations
Open invitations, rather than a list of things we already have covered.
Artists and musicians
Particularly players whose work already sits between categories. The TebuSpace Sessions format is built for exactly this: a day in a room together, and a performance at the end of it.
Venues, festivals and promoters
For performances, and for hosting a Session with artists from your own programme. Co-programming is welcomed. It usually produces the most memorable night of the run.
Schools, colleges and universities
Workshops, masterclasses, residencies and guest lectures, from a single visit to a term-long relationship.
Community and wellbeing organisations
Music-making as practice rather than performance, delivered with your group at your pace. Bring your budget constraints into the first conversation rather than the last.
Researchers and funders
TebuSpace works as a named practitioner partner on practice-based research and funded projects, including delivery inside a study and co-authored dissemination.
Film, photography and media
The visual documentation of the space is an ongoing collaboration, and there is room for more people in it.

How to take part
Four steps, none of which require you to have it all worked out first.

Get in touch
Tell us who you are and what you have in mind. A rough idea is enough. Most projects here started as a half-formed one.

Talk it through
A conversation about what is actually possible, what it would cost and what would need to be true for it to work.
- 03
Make it concrete
A written plan with dates, roles and a fee, so both sides know what has been agreed.
- 04
Do the work
And document it, so the next group can see what it looked like before they say yes.
